Captain Francois
Captain Curt´s real name was Curt Karl Bruno von Francois, and he was born on October the second, 1852 in Luxembourg, and died on December 28, 1931. He shall be always remembered as one of the first people to take action in the German colony in South Western Africa. He fought in the Prussian War in the years 1870 and 1871, and in 1883, he had more to do with geography, since he was on a mission to look at Congo, which at that time was under the rule of Hermann von Wissman. After that he became member of the German Imperial Staff. After this job, he was at a station in Togoland. In 1889 Adolf Lüderitz and Bismarck then later on wanted their station, which was supposed to encourage more protection in South Western Africa, to be protected, so Francois, having 21 troops as a force, went to Walvis Bay, to get rid of the British. After that, he was put Otjimbingwe, to help with the German opponents and help get back the German territory in South Western Africa, and then got stationed at Windhoek, so he could help out an end to another conflict.
He then was commissioner there from 1891 to 1893, and in 1892 he built a coastal town called Swakopmund, which should then be the main harbor. After being commissioner for almost two years, he became major. Then in 1894, because the German government lost faith in him, he became replaced by Major Theodor Leutwein. This became the end of him being in the military.

Major Leutwein
Major Leutwein´s real name was Theodr Gotthilf Leutwein, and he was born on the ninth of May, in the year 1849, and died on the thirteenth of April, in the year 1921. He was administrator in the German colony of South West Africa between 1894 and 1904. As a major, he replaced Major Francois, because the government had lost faith in him. He wanted to build apon a colony, but not have any bloodshed. He built administration centers in Windhoek, Ojimbingwe, and Keetmanshoop, as well as a road from Windhoek to Swakopmund. He also created the Leutwein System, which is a combination of diplomacy, and military. He had a very good relationship with Namaqua and the Herero, through which he was criticized. He was replaced by Wilhelm II, which was the end of his colonial ruling times. One reason was because he had not put even one Herero into prison.
